225th anniversary of the Fair of Santa Llúcia
This year we reach a very important milestone that we want you all to enjoy. We celebrate the 225th anniversary of the Fair of Santa Llúcia (1786-2011, it is probably much older, but the first appointments are documented in 1786). With this motivation, both the Association of Saint Fair and the City Council have worked together to offer you the best fair possible. In a year where the economy goes wrong, we have expanded both the duration of the fair, from 26th November to 22th December, and the days on we program activities for all of you, from 3th to 20th december. We hope you enjoy.
Second anniversary of the Fair's website
Hello friends, welcome to the website of Fira de Santa Llúcia, where we are celebrating the second anniversary of this website, which we hope will be yours too.
We continue working to make it as complete as possible and we ask for your collaboration, as you also do on the fair, to complete the photographic archive on the web. If you have photos of the Fira, whether old ones or more current, you can send them to this address: lafira@firadesantallucia.cat. If you know the year and/or who the photographer was, please tell us. After uploading they will be resized to 800x600 px and 72 ppi for use on the website. If you prefer to resize them yourself before uploading, please remember that the minimum size is 800x600 px and 72 ppi.
We continue improving the christmas lights and safety lighting
Last year saw new lighting system for the Fira, including improved safety lighting, with new metal porticoes enabling us to light some areas which used to be very dark, and new Christmas lights using the same metal structures as support. This year we add a new structure to improve more lighting system. We hope you like them. See you soon!
Activities at the Fira
As we do every year, we are organising various activities such as the Giant Tió of the Fira (a log which produces presents!), the traditional Carassa parade, 18th edition of Day of Christmas Traditions and Customs in Catalonia, including the awarding of the prize for the Stallholder of Honour, which this year will be delivered on 13 December at 6 pm to Enric Masip, former handball player of F.C. Barcelona. For more detailed information go to the Activities section.
